The multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting holes are used for adding accessories, such as magic arms, cold shoe, rod clamp, ARRI compatible extension blocks and more. The U-shape of the plate allows for the original camera handle to remain mounted. This top mount plate is easily and firmly locked through four 1/4" screws, so it is sturdy.
